Common questions

About Moving

Yes, provided that your city has a dry port customs warehouse. The container would go on a DTA system (customs transit) to the dry port city and its operation would be conducted in the latter place. This operation will increase the price of the release process because the client would need to hire an agent at each of the sites. The first seaport would take care of the transfer process of the container and the second would inspect the container.

“Demurrage” refers to the rental of the container by the shipping company. The time achieved by us without charging “demurrage” is around 15 days after the arrival of the container in Brazil. After a period of 15 days of arrival at the port of destination, the company charges the customer directly.

Yes, but before making the sale, you must request permission and pay federal income taxes. Only after that are the goods legal for sale.

- 20-foot-container (33 cubic meters of interior space). Usually, you can fit a complete two-bedroom house in a container this size.
- 40-foot-container (66 cubic meters of interior space). Usually, you can fit a complete four-bedroom house in a container this size.

In this case, the passenger can carry books, pamphlets, journals, clothing, toiletries and shoes (if used). The amount of these items is usually observed at the time the passenger travels outside of Brazil.

There is no limit. The passenger must reside abroad for over one year, despite having previously shipped their moving cargo. After a year of living abroad, for the second or third time, one acquires these rights again.

As long as the dispatcher hired by the client has the key.

You have 90 days to initiate the release process of your moving cargo. However, during this time, you will be paying port charges.

Only if you prefer to. You can hire a broker to represent you before the IRS.

Brazilian law allows you to send your moving cargo up to 180 days after the date of your trip to Brazil.

As long as you can prove a relationship between the profession and the equipment you want to take.

It is not allowed to send any gasoline-powered items: cars, motorcycles, Jet Skis, planes, generators and so on. You also cannot send, as you are moving, items related to cars and car parts, hang gliding, canoeing and boats (even without motor).

It is not allowed to send a car in your moving. To send a car, it has to be brand new from the current year and go straight to the dealership with an import license on behalf of the person importing. Or, you may send the car if it is more than 30 years old and you prove that you are a car collector.

The IRS already assumes the client will send two refrigerators, provided one is used and one is new. Use common sense for televisions. For example: you have a container with furniture from a three-bedroom house and your home has four televisions. You may take four televisions with you.

All of your belongings: appliances, furniture, clothing, etc.

Water, electricity and phone bills, or a rent agreement or bank statement are some examples.
